Pet Sitting Business Terms of Business
1. Definitions
"Pet Sitter" refers to [Only Pawz & Clawz]. "Client" refers to the pet owner or authorised representative. "Pet(s)" refers to the animal(s) under the care of the Pet Sitter.
2. Services
The Pet Sitter agrees to provide the services specified in the booking confirmation, which may include:
- Pet sitting
- Dog walking
- Feeding and watering
- Administration of agreed medications
- Overnight stays
- Home visits
3. Bookings
- All bookings are subject to availability.
- New clients may be required to attend a consultation before services commence.
- The Client must provide accurate and complete information regarding their pet's health, behaviour, and care requirements.
4. Fees and Payment
- Fees are charged according to the current pricing schedule.
- A booking fee of 20% of the total cost is payable on confirmation of services required, the balance is then payable at the start of the booking.
- Late payments may incur additional charges.
- Any additional services requested during the booking period may be charged separately.
5. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 5 days before the booking start date and time customer will receive a full refund on the 20% booking fee.
- Cancellations made less then 5 days before the booking start date and time will not receive a refund on the 20% booking fee.
- No refunds will be provided for early returns from holidays or shortened bookings.
- Extra charges will incur for delayed returns.
6. Pet Health and Welfare
- Pets must be vaccinated as required by law and veterinary guidance.
- The Client must disclose any medical conditions, behavioural issues, or special requirements.
- The Pet Sitter reserves the right to refuse care for pets posing a risk to themselves, the Pet Sitter, or others.
7. Veterinary Care
- In the event of illness or injury, the Pet Sitter is authorised to seek veterinary treatment if the Client cannot be contacted.
- The Client remains responsible for all veterinary fees and related costs.
- The Pet Sitter will make reasonable efforts to contact the Client before obtaining treatment.
8. Liability
- The Pet Sitter will take reasonable care of all pets and property.
- The Client accepts responsibility for any injury, damage, loss, or expense caused by their pet unless resulting from the Pet Sitter's negligence.
- The Pet Sitter is not liable for illness, injury, loss, or death arising from factors beyond their reasonable control.
9. Emergencies
The Client must provide:
- Emergency contact details.
- Veterinary practice details.
10. Photographs and Marketing
- The Pet Sitter may take photographs of pets during services.
- Photographs will only be used for marketing purposes with the Client's consent.
11. Data Protection
The Pet Sitter will process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR where applicable.
12. Termination
The Pet Sitter may terminate services immediately if:
- The pet poses a safety risk.
- The Client breaches these terms.
- Information provided by the Client is materially inaccurate.
13. Complaints
Any complaints should be submitted in writing within 14 days of the service being provided.
